"Seeker. Leader. Learner."
A Bit About
M. Suleman
I started as a Creative Designer; someone who loved making things look good on the internet before the internet quite figured out what it wanted to be. Over the next two decades, I went from pixels to platforms, from CSS quirks to cloud architecture, and somehow ended up leading engineering as Vice President Technologies at Jubilant Foodworks Limited, driving next-gen scalable systems and enterprise AI integration.
Along the way, I built Gaana.com's music player, launched Zigwheels and Movies Now from scratch, architected a custom CMS for Yatra.com that handled millions of travellers, and eventually created HashtagCMS; a truly API-first, headless, multi-tenant CMS for the modern web. Version 3.0 just shipped. Yes, I'm a bit proud.
When I'm not in front of a screen, I'm probably wiring something to an Arduino or making music that only my family has to endure. I believe in building things that last, teams that grow, and code that doesn't make the next developer cry.
Hire me if you want...
- โ Scalable, thoughtful architecture
- โ A leader who codes AND manages
- โ Open source mindset built-in
- โ Someone who makes teams better
- โ Honest, direct communication
Don't hire me if you want...
- โ Someone who just says yes always
- โ Trendy rewrites every 6 months
- โ Pure management with no craft
- โ Meetings as a day job
- โ Silence instead of progress
What I Actually
Do
Well
Two decades of hands-on work distilled into the things I can genuinely move the needle on.
Web Architecture
Designing systems that scale from 1 to a million without the 3am panic call. Headless, API-first, composable โ that's the vocabulary I work in.
Frontend Engineering
Started with pixels, never stopped caring. Vue.js is my native language but I can speak React fluently when needed.
AI Strategy & Engineering
Embedding Large Language Models and Agentic workflows into enterprise systems. Bridging the gap between speculative AI and practical, value-driving platforms.
CMS & Platform Build
Built two production CMS systems from scratch: a custom CodeIgniter CMS at Yatra, and HashtagCMS โ a fully headless, multi-tenant platform.
Team Leadership
Managed 20+ engineers across frontend, mobile, and search at Monster India. Building great teams is just as satisfying as shipping great code.
Legacy Modernisation
The art of lifting decade-old systems into the modern era without breaking anything โ or at least not breaking anything customers notice.
Built for the
Community
HashtagCMS
An API-first, headless Content Management System built on Laravel. Designed for modern teams who need to run multiple sites, multiple languages, and multiple tenants โ without losing their sanity.

ms-Dropdown
Transform a boring select box into a rich, image-supported dropdown. A jQuery plugin (and now web component) that web developers have been reaching for since 2009.
ms-Carousel
A lightweight, no-drama jQuery carousel that just works. Sometimes the best tool is the one that gets out of your way.
The Journey
So Far
Two decades of building, leading, and occasionally firefighting โ in roughly reverse order.
Vice President Technologies
Leading technical innovation, AI strategy, enterprise-scale platforms, and cross-functional engineering teams as VP Technologies.
Director of Technology
Led a cross-functional group of 20+ engineers across frontend, mobile, and search engineering. Owned the full technical roadmap for one of India's largest job platforms.
Senior Manager Engineering
Led a 9-person team building high-traffic travel experiences. Architected and built a custom CMS on CodeIgniter that powered content management for millions of travellers.
Creative Designer โ Manager
Grew from Creative Designer to Manager across some of India's most iconic digital properties. Launched Gaana.com's music player, created Zigwheels, Movies Now, and Times Crest.
Web Developer
Where it all began. Early-career roles that built the creative and technical foundations โ hand-crafting web experiences back when the web was still figuring itself out.
What People
Actually Say
Real words from real colleagues. Unedited (mostly).
Marghoob is one of those rare engineers who combines deep technical expertise with genuine leadership ability. He doesn't just ship code โ he shapes how teams think about engineering. Working alongside him was both challenging and incredibly rewarding.
Lucky has a unique ability to see the full picture โ from user experience to system architecture. He leads with clarity, delivers with consistency, and brings out the best in every engineer around him. Truly one of the most dependable technology leaders I've worked with.
What sets Marghoob apart is his ability to translate complex technical decisions into business value. He genuinely cares about outcomes, not just outputs โ and that makes every project he owns better for it.
Marghoob brings a culture of quality wherever he goes. His architectural decisions always have testability and maintainability baked in. As a QA Director, that's something I deeply respect โ and don't take for granted. Great collaborator.

Beyond the code editor, Marghoob runs @TheBrainFolders โ a social channel where tech meets real life. Expect thoughts on technology, finance, geopolitics, leadership, and the general chaos of existence. Delivered without corporate polish.
Most software that "needs" a rewrite just needs a good read-through and some honest conversations about what it actually does.
The best investment strategy is still the one you can stick to when the market makes you want to do the opposite.
The job of a senior engineer is to make everyone around them more capable. If you're hoarding your knowledge, you're not senior โ you're scared.
Nobody figures out work-life balance. You just keep recalibrating until the guilt gets quieter.
Let's Build
Something Great
Whether you have a project in mind, a team that needs architectural direction, or just a good technical problem to discuss โ I'm genuinely interested. Drop me a line.
